Interventions

Personaly I believe that countries should interven on topics such as mass genocide. Even though I am a great activist of "mind my own business" a.k.a isolationist, I still would not think that just "allowing" the killing of millions of people. What I mean is, for example, if you were to walk past some sort of person hurting another person could you just turn a cold shoulder and ignore it? I know i couldn't. Not only that, but for some thing like genocide its more then one person happoning on "bad times". After seeing things like The Rape of Nanking and seeing the publishing of the pictures and how the Japanese viewed on what they were doing its just heart breaking in a way. Not only those but the pictures ive seen from the Holocost was also infuriating that anyone could do such things without remorce. I feel as though if u are not stoping things like this you are helping the genocide along. The only way genocide is going to stop is if someone stops it. THUS intervening. That is just a personal opinon of mine.

Cinderella Man Outiline

The Movie "The Cinderella man" is primarily a underdog story featuring James J. Braddock. This film features some key elements of all story's; the fall, rising action, and the climax (in that order). The movie starts right off during the roaring twenties where everyone in America was making as much money as they could. James was at the top of his league and seemingly could not be stopped. ( http://www.jamesjbraddock.com/gallery/boxing/2/ ) but then the fall happens, otherwise known as the Great Depression. ( http://newdeal.feri.org/sevier/interviews/413s.htm ) James lost everything during that time and barely had enough money to survive. James Could not get a good fight to save his life, on the top of things he was fighting injured. Eventually the boxing commission decided to suspend James's license to box. From there it all started getting worse, but the worse of all was him not being able to provide for his family. As luck would have it the rising action happened, oh joy! James 'technically' gets another fight, however its really just a filler seeing as the guy they needed canceled. With money tight and win or lose 250 dollars it seemed like a dream come true. James got in the ring and BAM! He won! No one expected him do to anything let alone win! Eventually with the cunningness of James's manager James is able to get some more fights! With that his popularity rose again, gaining him the title "Cinderella Man" because of his astonishing fairytale comeback. With the defeat of "corn" Griffin, it put him in the contending for the heavy weight champion of the world! And then the climax, the fight between Max Baer. Which in all honesty had me at the edge of my seat the whole time. It was an amazing fight between the two fighters, and by the vote of the judges James won, and became the heavy weight champion of the world! ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RINFZ_8BhIw ) Talk about a climax huh?

schneck v. us- created the patriot acts, sedition act and espionage acts. quotas system.

Reflection

I can't speak for the rest of the world, but in my opinion learning about gangsters is very interesting. What i mean by gangsters is the old time gangsters, not the ones from today. The old gangsters were a lot "cooler" in my opinion because of they way they operated. During the prohabition era being as it may that alcohol was made illigal there stands the change of people opposed to it, starting up the bootleggers of old. Its just "neat" how they were able to opperate and how bad the security was back then! For my group during the small group presentations we were give "Baby-Face Nelson" who, indeed, was very interesting character. learning some of the things about him, you sit down and think to yourself, this guy was a BAD dude. learning some interesting facts such as when babyface was around during his sort of "harrasment times" where he was just starting up doing crimes, he would go up to vendors from stores put a gun to their mouth and then say "you need to buy insurance". If they didnt pay it, he would shoot them. If they did pay it he took out his favorite knife, which he had on him at all times, and cut their lip saying "taste that blood? there is alot more where that came from if you back out". That statement is awsome in a way yet you can see this was one bad guy. Another interesting fact was when he was 12 he shot a kid in the jaw with a pistol (on acedent supposedly). Still its plain for me to see that learing stuff like that will keep you focused on what is happoning. I very much loved this small project.
