Music of today

"Politicians bathing in their greed
No idea on how to be all they can be...

It's war for money...
drink from the golden cup...

Play your war games with other people's lives
It should be you on the front-line"

When i first read this topic I instantly thought of one song "No one gets left behind" by five finger death punch. This song was made to criticize the people sending others to fight the war for them as they sit back home relatively safe. As they fight they give their lives, the song continues to talk about if they have any honor or if they even know why they are being sent over, how they can just sit comfortably as others die. Basicly this song is pretty much as anti-war as it gets.

Media Coverage

Media back during the Vietnam times was relatively more bias then the media of today. Vietnam was more "in-your-face" with the bad that was going on during the war, such as killing, death, and mutilation. Its sad to think that these people were hated just by the fact that was the way they were represented. Whereas today media functions more like "whatever works in their favor". Politics and whatnot. The seem more interested on putting out their opinions and swaying the populous with whatever it is they want them to think. Unlike Vietnam which only showed the death, not to sway someone politically, but because it makes a good story.

O.k. so bad news. Senator Kenneth Keating just told me there is evidence that there are missile installation going on in Cuba. Now i don't want there to be any sort of Crisis, but i am urged to do something about this, will talk again when i know more.

Got an idea, going to send U-2 plane over Cuba to see what all the fuss is about or if there even is any.

The U-2 plane was delayed launch until today because of the weather, sent it out and apparently the pictures it provided was hard proof of the missiles. Not a good sign.

Sent another U-2 out for another check, results are worse then i feared.
Intermediate range SS-5 nuclear missiles were found. Even a worse sign then yesterday.

Gromyko came to me today and
assures me that Soviet aid to Cuba has been only for the "defensive capabilities of Cuba." I'm not buying it.

Thought about doing an air-strike today to solve the problem but
General Maxwell Taylor said that an air strike could not guarantee to destroy all Soviet missiles in Cuba. Well back to the drawing board.

A new letter from Khrushchev arrived today, proposing a "public trade" of Soviet missiles in Cuba for U.S. missile in Turkey. I didn't even know we had missiles in Turkey.

Khrushchev finally announced over Radio Moscow that he has agreed to remove the missiles from Cuba. Man that was heart wrenching.
