MLK and civil disobedience - MLK being a civil rights leader lead a movement of "civil disobedience" which entitled non-violent protests such as sit-ins.
Power of the "Mob" - The more people you have for any movement the stronger that movement is.
Plessy v. Ferguson VS. Brown v. Board of Education - Basically complete opposites of each others court decision. Plessy v. Ferguson says separate but equal is OK. While Brown v. Board of Education said that, that is unconstitutional, changing every way things where.
Civil Rights Goals- to put it simple equality for all races in the united states.
Eisenhower's Role in Little Rock - Eisenhower ordered the school in little rock to be come desegregated however the mayor did not allow this and would not let the 9 kids into the school with the national guard guarding the school. Eisenhower sent 1000 paratroopers to Little Rock to make sure they went to school.
Rights of the accused - Basically if you get arrested you will always have right of someone to represent you, even if u cant afford one. Also you are informed of your rights prior to any interrogation and what you say may be held against you, allowing you the right not to talk until legal representation.
Brown vs. Board of Education - Like i said earlier, changed the way things worked in the U.S., changing how things where separated. This is also commonly known as the spark that started the Civil Rights Movement.
Chavez and the United Farm Workers - Wanted better wages and rights for those who worked in farms so he made a union to help farmers with their rights of their jobs. Also ironically Chavez was against immigration even though he was fighting for the rights of immigrants.
FHA and ADA - FHA banned the act of not allowing someone to buy or rent a house baised on race. ADA made for equal rights for those with disabilities. Such as having ramps for places to get into by stairs.
Purpose of Filibusters - The purpose of the filibusters was to simply waste time. Making sure that if they can waste enough time the other opposing party cant talk or speak at the meeting.
Sit-ins and Other Protests - Well the reasons for these were very simple, to protest the way things were working in order to obtain equal opportunity and rights. For as long as a sit-in was going on that business was not doing any, well, business.
